This is an agave / maguey from Mexico which produces all sorts of mezcal types. This exquisite distillation is inherited from prehispanic Zapotec people from Oaxaca. It can be appreciated that the Quiote tree is growing from it. This announces its lifespan, ready to die, as it transforms itself from a succulent into a tree.
