Mercat de Sentmenat

Description:

An abandoned textile factory was to be turned into a Market for the neighboring towns around the Occidental Valleys north of Barcelona city. 

Given the agricultural surroundings it made sense to endow the building to also enhance the cultural interactions of the region, adding a culinary laboratory and restaurants on the second floor to stimulate economic growth through attraction of visitors doing special events. 

The compound marks the limit of the town and it becomes a threshold toward the park aside, bridging over the river of Sentmenat.
